God's Country Band is a testimony to the power and strength of family. In His infinite wisdom, God placed yet another talented man into this musical clan. That man is none other than Randy Mills, brother-in-law to Tim Stout Sr. and uncle to Tim Jr and Mike.
Randy himself comes from a musical family. His brother, Donald, enjoyed a long career as drummer for Country Music legend Earnest Tubb. In fact, thanks to Donald, Randy began his musical journey as a drummer. Seeking to broaden his horizons, Randy soon began learning to play guitar. It was then that Mr. Mills began to make his mark.
With Country Music running through their vains, brothers Randy, John, and Bob started their own band. The group eventually disbanded and Randy moved on to join brothers-in-law Tim Stout and the late Gene Mangus. This new group would go on to enjoy a career that lasted several years.
As always, the inevitable changing of seasons brought new opportunities for Randy Mills once again. This time they would come in the form of God's Country Band, where Randy would fill position of lead guitarist and share lead vocals. Additionally, Randy takes an active role in the writing of the band's material.
Maintaining balance is a priority for Randy. While he approaches his career with the utmost professionalism, he also realizes the need to keep things fun and interesting. This is his approach in both recording and live performance.
Randy Mills proudly plays a Fender Stratocaster using Fender 150 strings. He also uses a Peavey 212 amp.
When asked who has been most influential in his life and career, Randy sites such influences as God, family, Merle Haggard, Kenny Hinson, and Randy Travis.
