If God's Country Band were a flowing river, one might aruge that Glen Davis would be a boulder anchored in its middle, shifting the current in a new direction. If you ask the other five members of GCB, they might agree with that analogy. While Glen himself would cite old school influences such as Floyd Cramer and Jimmy Swaggart, he brings a freshness to GCB with his playing.

"I just love listening to Glen's work", states Destiny Now's Bret Walton quite matter-of-factly. "He's the real deal and knows how to bring authenticity to this style of music."

The musical oddysey of Glen Davis began around age 8 or 9 when his parents bought him a Montgomery Ward acoustic guitar. It was not long before young Mr. Davis was playing that same guitar during song service at his family's home church.

While it appeared the guitar would be his forte, a nearby neighbor was holding Glen's future in her living room...

Glen's parents purchased a neighbor's piano and the course of his life was changed. It was apparent his aptitude knew no boundaries. Within the first year of lessons, Glen had outgrown his piano teacher. It was she who told him to move on because, "You're already playing better than me!" From that point on, Glen's musical education would continue by watching and listening to other players. "I would learn their licks and then put my style signature on them", explains the seasoned veteran.

Obviously, that strategy worked...

"We are so fortunate to have Glen on board", says Tim Stout. "He contributes so much to our sound and he's such a team player." After listening to Glen's work, you're likely to agree.

Glen Davis plays a Yamaha PS-120 Electric Piano and uses a Peavey amp and Crate 4-12" speaker.
